Little Gate College, is swiftly approaching its grand opening, marking a significant milestone in our community. The college is set to offer two study programmes designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for the modern working world. As the countdown to opening day continues, remarkable progress has been made on several fronts, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for both students and staff.
The enthusiasm for Little Gate College has been building as can be seen by the number of families we have spoken to about our study programmes.
Our enrolment numbers are high and our college will be full for September 2024.
The learning at the college will be person centred to the students individual levels and needs.
While we have been holding consultations and enrolling students onto the college programmes we have also been interviewing for college staff.
We have a great team of education staff and job coaches ready to work with the new students Each new staff member brings a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Before the students start, our college staff team will complete (amongst other induction and training) Training in Systematic Instruction (TS) training, a 4-day course providing them with the opportunity to learn a new way of teaching which they will then implement when working with our college students.
In anticipation of the college opening, we recently hosted a New Starter Evening, a special event bringing together students, staff, and their families. This evening was more than just an introduction; it was a celebration of the community we are building at Little Gate College. Held at The Pelham where our education days will be based, the event provided the opportunity for new students to meet their peers and the college staff in an informal and welcoming setting.
As the opening day approaches, Little Gate College is ready to welcome its first cohort of students.
