After a very soggy start to the year it is finally starting to feel like Spring has arrived at Little Gate Farm. Our Horticulture trainees have been working hard outside to get everything ready for a busy season ahead.
The flower beds have all been prepped for seedlings to be planted out soon. We also have new bed signs - these have all been painted by the trainees, red, orange, blue, green and purple. They are all colour coded to keep the garden autism friendly and to make it easier for everyone when picking flowers.
Our Sweet Peas have been planted, these are started off by our onsite sweet pea expert, Bill the volunteer. We have some beautiful varieties and we are very excited for them to bloom! We have lots of other seeds being sown in the polytunnel too.
Some of the Tulips are now blooming beautifully and the ranunculus are budding!
Slug patrol are on duty, keeping the chickens fed and happy and saving our seedlings from being gobbled up!
Lastly, our buzzy bee friends are waking up from their winter slumber and we have seen a few buzzing around looking for what we have available!
