We're thrilled to share some exciting updates from Little Gate Supported Employment as we embrace the spirit of spring. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we're making significant strides towards our mission of empowering with learning disabilities and or Autism or both.
We're delighted to announce that, thanks to the Southover Manor Trust and Ernest Kleinwort, we now have the necessary funding in place to build our much-needed log cabin classroom. This new facility will provide a dedicated space for learning and development, enhancing our ability to deliver tailored training programmes to our beneficiaries.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Garfield Weston and Henry Smith for their unwavering support in supporting our work training programme at Little Gate.
Their contributions are instrumental in equipping individuals with the skills and confidence needed to pursue meaningful employment opportunities.
This month, Little Gate received fantastic news: we have been awarded £5000 in funding through the Tesco Stronger Starts Golden Token Scheme. We're overjoyed to share that a kind member of the public selected Little Gate to receive this grant by choosing a golden token.
This generous grant will allow us to complete the field kitchen for our Young Rangers programme. With this facility, children will have the opportunity to learn essential skills such as making healthy snacks, understanding nutrition, mastering food preparation, and maintaining hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the thoughtful individual who chose Little Gate for this Stronger Starts grant.
We also express our deep appreciation to Tesco and their dedicated community Champions, Lisa and Mandy, for their ongoing support.
Additionally, we'd like to express our sincere appreciation to the Lawson Trust for their generous support, enabling us to run our catering training projects. These projects not only provide valuable vocational skills but also instil a sense of pride and accomplishment in our participants.
We'd also like to say a massive 'Thank you' to our runners in Hastings Half Marathon at the end of March, their dedication raised just over £2700 for Little Gate.
Last month, we were deeply honoured to also receive recognition from The High Sheriff of East Sussex, Mr Richard Bickersteth.
On Tuesday, 12th March, Mr Bickersteth hosted an Awards Ceremony at the Hellingly Community Hub, where he presented High Sheriff's Awards to eleven local charities. Among these esteemed recipients was Little Gate, proudly receiving an Award for Valuable Contribution to the Community.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, volunteers, and supporters who tirelessly contribute to making a positive impact in our community.
To all our amazing funders and supporters, we cannot thank you enough. Your dedication and generosity fuel our efforts and enable us to make a truly life-changing impact.
Together, we're breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering support.
